Road Closures for New Roofs

The reroofing of Hale 1 will begin on Monday April 27th 2015.  This will necessitate the road closure between Hale 1 and the Health Center as well as the sidewalks around Hale 1.  The duration of this closure will be about six weeks.  This will limit the access to Hales 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10, campus homes, Facilities Management Office & Shops, Print Services, Motor Pool, and  the Campus Distribution Center. The road between Hale 2 and the Social Science building will also be closed.  Once the roofing of Hale 1 is completed, the reroofing of Hale 2 will begin. The road between Hale 2 and the Social Science building as well as the sidewalks around Hale 2 will be closed at that time.

McKay Building Construction & Renovation

Starting Wednesday, February 11, 2015, there will be demolition and construction activities in and around the McKay Classroom complex for the next three months. Facilities apologizes that their activities will not be able to be kept “noise free.” Contractors will barricade parking stalls on the Little Circle and other areas to create safe working zones. For your safety, stay out of all the confined construction staging areas. Construction will be from 7 AM-5 PM Mondays-Saturdays. They will be removing the existing roofing system and replacing it with a new roof on wings 1, 2, 11, 12 and the Foyer. They will also be removing and replacing all the exterior soffits, fascia, and gutters. For more information, contact Billy Casey at Facilities Management at 675-3410 or

 New Roof for the Library

Within the next few weeks, construction on a new roof for the Joseph F. Smith Library will begin. The project will be completed by the end of Summer Semester. Several new skylights will be installed with the new roof that will provide daytime lighting. Effective today, parking behind the Library will be closed to provide jobsite storage of roofing materials. Additional information on the project and any campus interruptions will be shared in the university bulletins and at as they are available. Please obey all safety barricades and signs. Contact Billy Casey in Facilities Management at with any questions.
